Dr. Marcus Bertolero
Chiropractor in Honolulu
Dr. Marcus Bertolero is a Chiropractor and movement specialist that focuses on restoring healthy joint function and optimal nerve flow that is often lost through modern lifestyle and injury.
Dr. Bertolero’s Story – His WHY: “I grew up with my first love being the game of basketball, but I was always in and out of the athletic training room due to injury. Through pure stubbornness I pushed through the injuries and attended Holy Names University on a basketball scholarship. During my junior year I decided my body took enough abuse and had to call it quits. My dreams were shot down. I believe most people can live with failure as long as they know that they truly gave it their all, but not even getting a real chance to try is depressing. Thankfully, this experience lit a fire and a strong passion for me to pursue chiropractic. I have dedicated my life to give others the opportunity to reach their dreams without letting injury stop them from achieving them. Whether it is running your first marathon, being the best performer at your job, or just being healthy enough to throw a football around with your kids, I promise to do everything I can to help you get there.”
After graduating from Holy Names University with a B.S. in Sports Biology, he attended Life Chiropractic College West where he graduated with honors in 2018. Two weeks after graduating he packed up his things and flew out to volunteer for a full year in the Dominican Republic as a Clinic Director for World Spine Care, which is a nonprofit organization that focuses on establishing sustainable, integrated, and evidenced-based spine care in underserved communities around the world. When asked about this experience he described it as “the greatest and most humbling experience that I have ever been a part of. Much more work needs to be done in regards to having effective spine care available to everyone around the world, but I am glad I was able to be a part of the solution during my time spent there”. He then spent the next couple years honing his skills while working under great mentorship at multiple chiropractic offices before starting Step Up Chiropractic.
